This post from 1000 Watt Consulting’s Brian Boero caught my eye. It seems that a well known real estate company is recruiting “dual career” agents. Call it dual career if you like, but the firm is recruiting agents who will work part-time, guiding their clients through the intricate details of contracts, marketing properties, and coordinating all the elements of real estate transactions, all while holding down another job. Is it responsible for companies to recruit folks who have only a secondary interest in real estate? Can the companies maintain reasonable levels of quality, training and service with part-time staff, or is it just a strategy to eek out a little more income?
I have asked this question before, and I will ask it again: Given the complexity of the real estate transaction, be it a listing or a purchase, is a full-time real estate professional important to the consumer, or is it OK if the agent has another (perhaps full time) job on the side?
Whether you are a consumer or an RE professional, I would love to see your comments.

In my experience, client react differently if they do business with full time than part time agents, of course if they know that fact.
