Community Involvement - It's not just about selling houses

Earlier this year, the Memphis Area Association of REALTORSÂ® requested that Memphis real estate agents involved inÂ community volunteerism submit profiles of their involvement, to be published in the Commercial Appeal Real Estate Section.Â I was fortunate enough to have this profile chosen earlier in the year for my volunteer work with the Center for Southern Folklore.

Last week, I was featured again for my involvement with the Midtown Security Community, which coordinates citizen, business and police efforts to address neighborhood problems with crime.

I am a board member on both of these organizations, and I always enjoy my volunteer work.Â There is more to life than selling houses, and I believe in giving back to the community that sustains me.

Joe knows Midtown! We loved working with him from the start--he's truly a professional but breaks everything down for you. While preparing our house for the market, he was patient with us and worked out a strategy for us. Once we left town, he took care of everything--it was complete piece of mind. The result? Not only the easiest real estate transaction we've ever had, but also the quickest! The house sold for more that we thought it could in a flash. My only regret--our move halfway across the country means that Joe can't help us find a new home! Wish we could have taken him with us! :)
