What you might be missing
There are few online home search engines that don’t have flaws:
Zillow, Trulia, Homes.com, and other national sites depend on data provided by local agents or Multiple Listing Services. There is usually a middle man between local data and the national sites, be it a syndication pipeline like ListHub, or 3rd party vendors like Single Property Sites or Postlets. The national sites are dependent on someone else giving them data. A break down in the pipeline can cause missing data and data that is not up to date. Search data is also muddied somewhat by ellusive listings like “pre-foreclosures” and other non available properties. National site Realtor.com does receive direct feeds from listings put in by Realtor members, which are the great majority of practicing real estate agents in the USA.
Sites of brand name real estate companies, local or national, often emphasize their own listings or are specifically prohibited from displaying listings from other companies. While sites from large companies seem to provide more accurate data than some of the national portal sites, there is always the question of how comprehensive are the results and how often are they updated.
The bottom line question from most active, ready, willing and able home buyers is “how can I be sure that I have the first shot at my dream home when it comes on the market?” That answer is simple – deal with a real live real estate agent. It doesn’t matter how you connect, via Zillow or Trulia ads, Facebook, print ads, or whatever. The advantage that an agent has over the online portals is INSTANT access to data via the MLS, and the ability to get you into a property possibly before anyone else has a chance at it.
How I can help you
I have direct access to the MLS and also have a system to keep you advised automatically of listings that are exact matches for your search criteria as they come on the market, and as status and price changes occur. Sure, there are alerts on the national portal sites, but often new data doesn’t reach them for hours. I provide the Client Connect service to all my customers. Just give me a call and I will be glad to set you up. The data found here on Spake.com is directly fed from the MLS, so feel free to set up your home search HERE too.

Buying a home is a really big deal. Although online home search engines may be very helpful, you can’t trust everything on the internet. I would feel much better working with a real estate agent. Thanks for sharing!
